Still Home Sick

That's right. I am still home sick. It has been almost one week since I got this horrible influenza. Today was the first day that I felt good enough to venture out from the bedroom and into the living room. I started cleaning up the kitchen and thought, "This is great! I'm feeling so much better. I think I'll do some laundry." I began doing laundry, dusting the living room, and vacuuming. That was the wrong thing to do. About an hour or two later I felt horrible again. I really shouldn't have done everything that I had done, but the house looks so much better! I returned to the bedroom and laid in bed with aches for about four hours. I think I learned my lesson. Just when you think you're feeling better and try to do things, this junk kicks back in and makes you feel cruddy again.

Well tomorrow is my seventh day with the flu. They say it takes 7 to 10 days to get rid of it. I'm hoping that I will be back to normal by Saturday or Sunday. Nate will be driving me to my classroom this weekend to get things ready for the week. I can't wait to go back into my classroom. I've really missed being at school with my kids and fellow teachers. I'll have to bring a bunch of cleaning supplies and disinfectant because I've had low numbers due to sickness all week. I'm thinking I should get a flu shot next year!

Thanks for all of the prayers for my health. I really appreciate everyone's thoughts.

Take it easy. You don't want to make yourself even more sick. We're still praying for you to recover. We can't wait to hang out with you guys soon. Gracie keeps saying "I miss Staci." Hopefully soon we can get back together.

Take care of yourself!

Awwww, Staci, I'm sorry you've been soooo sick! That flu bug is awful! I pray I don't get it. I can't afford to get sick right now with all the upcoming stuff on my calendar - TV interviews in Atlanta and Tampa, book signing at Hage's in a couple of weeks, then another in May at The Bookman! I even have a signing in LA at a huge retail convention. So, no, I can't afford to get sick. I think I'll start wearing a mask around town. haha!

You get well, kiddo! Did Nate get sick too? I feel so bad for you. Take it slow after you do go back to work. When you've been as sick as you have, it takes several days to get your strength back!

Love and Prayers!
Shar

P.S. Aw, that is so sweet that you put me up on your blog as a favorite author. Somehow me being in the same sentence with Nicholas Sparks just doesn't look or sound right.
